Scott had cracks all around his home. There were cracks in his foundation, as well as his floors, walls, ceilings and patio. He was concerned with the structural integrity of the home, and decided it was time to do something about it.
Such issues occur when the foundation of the home settles. Midwest Basement Systems had to raise up the foundation to its original state using push piers. To do this, they had to excavate the soil around the side of the home. They also installed new tile, gravel, and damp-proofed the walls before backfilling the soil. They also replaced his patio after excavating and installing the system.
Erik had one inch of water standing in his basement during heavy rains. Water was almost always leaking into his basement every time it rained. He knew this was because his walls were bowing in which caused them to crack. He was aware that this was a foundation issue, and decided he needed to get it fixed as soon as possible, to make sure his home stays structurally stable.
Midwest Basement Systems made sure his home would stay around for many years to come. They installed PowerBraces around his bowing walls, as well as a WaterGuard system that led to a sump pump. Several EverLast basement windows were installed, along with SunHouse window enclosures to prevent any water from entering the basement. His basement has been dry ever since!
This Truro, IA homeowner noticed a foul smell coming from his basement every time it rained caused my water leaking into the home. They were familiar with Thrasher and our dedication to providing a permanent solution, so they gave us a call.
Thrasher arrived at the Truro home to perform a thorough inspection of the wet basement. The water seeping into the basement was caused by a failing foundation that was no longer watertight. Water follows the path of least resistance, therefore any cracks in the walls would allow this to happen. The customer opted to have our team install our WaterGuard drainage system and apply CleanSpace to the walls. CleanSpace is a plastic waterproof barrier that captures the moisture trying to enter to guarantee the basement stays dry year-round.
The homeowner was pleased with the solutions we were able to provide, and the efficiency at which our crew performed. The wet basement was permanently restored and is now a functional space for the homeowner once again.
This homeowner was experiencing water problems in their basement. He was afraid it would spread into other parts of the home and wanted to get it fixed. We showed him exactly what we were going to do and explained why we were doing those things. This put his mind at ease and he was comfortable with our solution.
A small portion of a wall in his cellar was heavily leaking water. We installed WaterGuard on the wall and ran a lateral line from there to the sump pump to direct the water away from the home.
This homeowner had removed a tree next to their home and noticed the concrete starting signs of sinking. They called Midwest up because they were familiar with our reputation and quality work. One of our System Design Specialists, Tyler Bovee, came out and meet with them. Tyler noticed there were now large voids under the concrete from the removal of the tree roots. There was almost no support for the concrete to lay. Tyler proposed we use our PolyLevel foam to fill in this void and give the concrete the support it needs. What is cool about our PolyLevel foam, is that it is waterproof, so it won't wash away over the years like traditional mudjacking tends to do! Our crews got to work and filled in this void. The homeowners were very happy with the job and were impressed with the crew. There is no doubt these homeowners will be worry free about their concrete sinking anymore!
