This homeowner had a block wall leaning in their basement. They wanted to start remodeling their basement, so they knew the first thing they had to do was address their bowing wall. So they called Midwest.
Jon Patterson performed the inspection and decided the best solution for these failing walls were to install PowerBraces. Our install team got onsite and successfully were able to stabilize the bowing walls and save their basement and foundation. Now the homeowner is excited to get started on finishing the basement.

This homeowner had water getting into his basement, and every time he wanted the water to go away, he would have to pull up the flooring to dry out the water. While this problem had been occurring for years, he determined that with retirement nearing, he wanted to devote his time to home improvement projects instead of dealing with the wet basement problem. He knew that he wanted this problem fixed the right way, so when he found out about our services, he decided to give us a call.
We sent System Design Specialist James Denning to inspect the homeowner's basement water problem and determine what was causing it and to suggest solutions that would fix the problem. James found that water was coming in on one side of the house because that side of the house was sitting lower than the rest of the foundation, so water was running downhill to this portion of the house. James suggested that fixing this problem would involve a full perimeter waterproofing solution complete with a TripleSafe Sump Pump in order to get water out of the home, and the homeowner thought this idea would help tremendously.
One of our installation teams came to the home and installed a full perimeter WaterGuard Interior Drainage System with a partial height CleanSpace Vapor Barrier in order to drain water along the wall source. Then, they installed a lateral line to keep the center of the basement free of water, and all of this lead to a TripleSafe Sump Pump System, which pumps water up and away from the basement. On the exterior or the home, our installation team buried 4 downspouts in the yard, and they installed 2 poly wells to help keep water from flowing towards the lower sitting foundation wall. The homeowner was very happy with the results and he looks forward to using his basement space now. Check out the before and after!

Greg was working around the house one day and noticed that his basement walls were caving in. He was concerned about the issue and wanted to get it fixed before it got wrose. He immediately called Midwest Basement Systems. We told him that we could get out to his house as soon as possible.
When we went out to his house we knew his wall was the result of structural failure. We recommended PowerBraces be used to stabilize and straighten his wall. Greg told us to do whatever we needed to do. We were going to install Power Braces to stablize the failing foundation walls. Each beam was secured to the concrete floor at the base and to the wood floor system at the top to insure this problem would not happen again.
Marshall was fixing up the basement and noticed that he needed a new Sump Pump so he called Midwest Basement Systems. We told him that we could come out to his house to give him a free quote to install a sump pump.
We went out to his home and when he found out the price, he was sold! He immediately scheduled an appointment to receive it. We installed it and Marshall was very pleased with our work!
Doug was hanging out in his basement watching TV and noticed spots on his floor. He immediately knew that it was water because he had received a lot of rain in the past week. He called Midwest Basement Systems and we went out to evaluate the problem. Our System Designer let Doug know how we could help him, which would be installing a WaterGuard Drainage System. Doug had no hesitation and said yes to us doing the work.
Our production team went out and installed the WaterGuard which took a few days. WaterGuard is designed not to clog, does not rely on filter fabric, has a big drain outlet to the sump, and will not cause structural damage to the foundation. WaterGuard sits on top of the footing, instead of alongside the footing. This will prevent the mud going into the drain. Doug was impressed by our work.
Al noticed some uneven concrete areas in front of his house and wanted them to be fixed. The uneven concrete had created dangerous tripping hazards. He called Midwest Basement Systems and we visited his property to let him know how we could help him solve his problem. Al was ready to do it as soon as possible.
Our production team went out to Ames and leveled his concrete by drilling a hole into the ground and raising the concrete through that drilled hole by injecting PolyLevel. This process does not take long and it does not make a big mess. Al was very happy with the way it turned out that he said he would recommend us next time somebody needs help!
Craig was working on his basement one Saturday afternoon and realized there were damp parts of the carpet. He was concerned on where those spots were coming from. Monday morning Craig made a call out to Midwest Basement Systems and asked to make an appointment. Taylor was happy to schedule him with one of our experts Kyle. Kyle went out and took a look at the issues and told Craig that something needed to be done before we receive a big rain.
Kyle told him that he should have our WaterGuard installed. WaterGuard is a piping system engineered specifically to be a very efficient and long lasting interior perimeter basement waterproofing system. WaterGuard sits on top of the footing instead of alongside the footing. This is important because the mud can't get into the drain.
Craig signed the contract and made an appointment for Julio to come out to his house and get the work done. Julio finished the job and Craig was very happy with how it was done. He was very happy with the whole process he went through to get this done. He is very happy that there is a lifetime transferable warranty on the job that was completed.
Gilbert High School had some severely cracked concrete right on the entry sidewalk to the school. They had spray painted it yellow to highlight the area of danger, but eventually decided that this was not a long-term solution. They called Midwest Foundation Repair to get a quote on how much it would be to repair the sidewalk.
The school was pleasantly surprised that we could fix the pavement at such a reasonable rate. They had previously got a quote for the full replacement of the concrete instead of repair. That was not a reasonable solution for the school. We used PolyLevel foam to first level the concrete. After the sidewalk was even, we used NexusPro to seal all the joints.
The school was relieved to have the tripping hazard removed without breaking the bank.
Kim H. lives in a home with a crawl space which can be cause for concern in several different ways. Crawl spaces can have water issues, moisture/humidity issues, and even home to unwanted guests of the rodent variety. Kim was experiencing a musty or stale odor in her home and was wondering what may be the cause. She tried to get a few different experts out to investigate the problem but was happiest with Midwest Foundation Repair's suggestion.
We installed an industrial-grade dehumidifier called a Sedona SaniDry in her crawl space. This was able to control the moisture and humidity while improving the air quality. Within a week there was a noticeable difference in the odors. Kim was very pleased to get back to living in a home without a musty smell.
A homeowner in Nevada, IA was tired of his basement feeling cold, drafty and having a strong musty odor. Ready for a long-term solution, he decided to give Midwest a call.
The crew installed drainage matting and CleanSpace in the crawl space so water would no longer be a problem. The basement was also encapsulated with CleanSpace and WaterGuard was installed to direct water out of the basement and into the sump pump.
These homeowners has lived with uneven concrete slabs that were getting worse for years. Their son was quite concerned because he saw that water was pooling in large quantities right next to his parent's foundation wall, so after discussing it with his parents, they gave us a call.
We sent System Design Specialist Tyler Paulson to inspect the concrete situation and help prevent any potential foundation damage. Tyler found that the concrete slabs were uneven and sloping towards the house, which lead directly to the sump pump. The sump pump was getting overwhelmed, and this is when water started to pool at the home's foundation. Tyler suggested that they fix the concrete problem so that the sump pump problem is eliminated, and the homeowners thought this solution was perfect. Our team got to work straight away, lifting the concrete back to its original level with PolyLevel foam, and sealing the concrete's cracks and joints with NexusPro sealant.
The homeowners and their son were happy with the work that was done. They are relieved that no further damage was caused to their home's foundation from the concrete problem.
This homeowner wanted to keep her house up to date and make sure the basement windows were protected by good window wells. She gave Midwest a call because we had done waterproofing work for her in the past and knew we could get her taken care of. System Design Specialist, Austin Dermody, came out to meet with her. Austin looked at the area of concern, and saw the window wells she currently had were metal which were rusting out and not secured to her house. Water, snow, and other debris would get in the window well and cause issues. Austin went back to the homeowner, and discussed replacing the metal window well with a strong durable PolyWell and cover it with a strong, durable cover. The homeowner was all in to get this fixes, so we sent out our installation team. There is no doubt this homeowner has the peace of mind she was looking for with her window wells.
