Everyone we dealt with at Midwest Foundation Repair were professional, friendly and very helpful. Eric, our salesman, took the time to go thru all of the ways the basement could be fixed but also explained why some would not work for us and which ones would. Jason, the inspector, came out the week before to make sure everything was ready for the crew. Answered any other questions we had and made suggestions for us. Steve and his crew for the actual work were excellent and explained what & why they were doing everything as they went along. The cement crew was just an efficient. Since we have an old house we had to have alittle more work done as we had to have the cement floor tore out and replaced. There was barely any dust throughout the house afterwards. The cleanup the crew did was excellent. We defintely would recommend Midwest Foundation Repair to anyone having issues with their basements.

Initially, I was not sure if this was the right way to go to fix a leaky basement wall. I thought I needed to dig up the outside and reseal,but after talking to Jessi he convinced me this was the way to go. So far I am pleased with the work looks great

we got a SANIDRY and I had my doubts that it would get rid of the smell and do the job. It is a lot of money to spend for a dehumidifier but we noticed the smell was gone after 24hrs of running and that we r very pleased with its performance so far and hopefully for a long time. Now time to get rid of our 200$ machine that couldn't do what the SANIDRY is doing

Waterproofing a Basement in Waverly, IA

John was fixing up some things around his house and noticed there was something wrong with the walls in his basement. He noticed that water was coming into his basement through several wall cracks. He called Midwest Basement Systems as soon as possible for help in preventing the water intrusion and fixing the wall cracks.

We were able to solve John's problems by first installing PowerBraces which will correct the bowing in his wall creating the cracks. Afterwards, we installed WaterGuard, a below floor drainage system, that will keep his basement permanently dry. John was very happy with what we did and plans to use us for any future work needed!

Summer, Iowa Waterproofing Project

The homeowner noticed water in their basement. They were wanting to add another bedroom in their basement but were afraid of future water damage and then have costly repair from the water damage. They determined that repairing it now would be better than repairing and refinishing a new basement bedroom.

We installed a new sump pump system with WaterGuard and CleanSpace to lead water to the pump. Then, using the new discharge line to take the water away from the home.

Musty Smell in Basement Repair in Sumner, IA

This family was wanting to finish the basement and create more livable space for her 16 year old daughter and other children. They are concerned with the moldy smell in the basement. They heard of Midwest and our reputation, so they gave us a call. System Design Specialist, Mike Portel, came out to meet with them. Mike did his inspection and found water was pushing up through the cold joints in the concrete block walls. This is caused from hydrostatic pressure from water building up around the foundation due to the clay bowl effect. Mike took these findings and went back to the family with a solution. To combat this issue, we installed WaterGuard around the perimeter to capture the water coming into the foundation and direct the water into a sump pump. We also installed full height of CleanSpace vapor barrier to prevent damage from water vapor evaporating off the walls. The water in the basement was causing very high humidity levels, so we also installed a Sedona dehumidifier to prevent mold and improve air quality in the basement. The family was extremely happy with the level of communication and now have peace of mind to start finishing the basement!
