Brad and Lisa S. are proud homeowners in Waukee, IA and noticed concrete of their entryway was beginning to lean forward away from the home. In addition, the driveway was lacking the protection it needed to survive the test of the time. To begin the project, System Design Specialist Dan King arrived at the Waukee, IA home to perform a thorough inspection on the problematic concrete. It was clear the down spouts were pushing water towards the concrete and eroding the soils underneath causing it to lean. As a result, the control joints were beginning to fail and allowing water to seep in. Our teams began repairing the concrete by installing our PolyLevel foam to lift and level the leaning concrete. They followed this up by applying NexusPro to all cracks and joints to permanently prevent water from entering and causing future damage.
Brad and Lisa S. couldn’t have been more pleased with the appearance and effectiveness of the solutions we provided. They immediately recommended Midwest to all their neighbors for any concrete needs.

This homeowner was getting tired of watching his concrete getting worse and worse over time. It started pushing up against the foundation and started to let water into the basement. We have done waterproofing in their basement and they have been happy with our services, so they gave us another call. System Design Specialist, Austin Dermody, came out to meet with them. Austin noticed there were a lot of cracks and unsealed joints which allowed a direct path for water to wash soil away. This caused voids and the concrete to sink. Austin came back to them with the findings and a solution. He proposed we use PolyLevel to lift and level the concrete back into place, and NexusPro to seal the joints and cracks. Both of these products are waterproof, so this prevents any more water to get under and wash away more soil. The homeowner loved this solution and knew we would do it right, so we sent out our installation team. There is no doubt they do not have to worry about their concrete allowing water into the basement anymore.
Dan D. of Waukee, Iowa plans on staying in his home for a “long while”, and he felt it was time to do something about the concrete problems he was noticing around his home - particularly the sinking slabs in his driveway and sidewalk that not only looked bad, but also created trip hazards. After inspecting the area, our System Design Specialist presented Dan with a solution and price he liked, and so we got to work.
To lift, level and protect Dan’s driveway and sidewalk, we used a 2-part approach beginning with of our PolyLevel polyurethane foam to first fill the voids that had formed beneath the sinking slabs, returning them to level. To protect the slabs from sinking again, we sealed the concrete joints with NexusPro to prevent water from flowing freely beneath the concrete where it can cause erosion of the soil and new voids.
The concrete slabs were extremely settled in some areas, and both Dan and our crew were very happy to see the slabs leveled again when the work was through. When asked about his experience, Dan had this to say, “I'm glad I called you guys and got on your list. I can now go to the mail box and not worry about tripping.”
