Robert B. started to notice that the floors in the crawl space were sagging, and that doors and windows were not closing properly. Not wanting the problem to get worse, he decided to seek out a solution right away. After having Midwest come out to do other work, he felt comfortable in having us come back out.
We sent Service Technician Michael Holtz out to Robert’s home. Robert had already braced the crawl space but was ready to finish the job. The crew installed SmartJacks to support the crawl space and the sagging floors. Then also insulated the crawl space with SilverGlo helping the space become energy efficient. Robert was happy that we were able to create a permanent solution.
Homeowners Linda and Severin J. noticed that there was cracking on one of their foundation walls and were worried about the impact this would have on their foundation. Linda and Severin were also looking to update their sump pump. They decided to give Midwest a call.
System Design Specialist Nicholas Hruska went out to their home. Upon inspection Nicholas was able to identify three walls had structural defects. Their sump pump was also having mechanical failure and the basement had high humidity levels. The crew installed three PowerBraces so the walls would be supported and stabilized. Then a new sump pump and SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was also installed to control humidity. Linda and Severin were extremely pleased with everything and how the crew kept the area clean.
EM wanted to finish a family room in the basement and didn't want to worry about water ruining the finishes in the basement. There was no water coming into the home based on the existing foundation. After numerous times of water filling up EM's basement, he realized it was the downspouts outside of the basement window in his home.
For this project, we were able to install a new PolyWell window well, which would help prevent standing water from getting into the basement of this home. The next step was burying the gutters' downspouts 10' away from the house. Doing this will force water out through the grates 10' from the home. These solutions will help keep EM's basement dry.

Dan M. In West Des Moines, Iowa had plans to sell his home in a few years, and he wanted to get top dollar for it when the time came. He had previously worked with Midwest Foundation Repair to install a waterproofing system that worked great and added value to his home, but unsightly water damage and dampness of the old basement cinderblock walls would almost certainly turn off potential home buyers, or at best attract low ball offers.
Since Dan had already had a great experience working with Midwest in the past, he decided to give us a call to see what could be done. After performing a thorough inspection, we recommended installing CleanSpace vapor barrier along all of the basement walls. Not only would this make the space brighter and the walls cleaner, it would reduce humidity and that ‘basement smell’ that comes from damp spaces.
As far as Dan was concerned, “If this fixes my problem and maintains my property value, then let's do it.”
In the end, Dan was thrilled with the result we achieved and can now feel confident that his basement will be a selling point for a potential home buyer when the time comes.
Homeowners in West Des Moines, IA were worried about their foundation and sump pump. A crack appeared on one of their foundation walls and their sump pump was old.
Midwest installed three PowerBraces on three foundation walls, that were showing signs of failure, stabilizing the walls. A new sump pump was also installed, replacing the old one, due to mechanical failure. The basement also had high humidity levels, to help with this we installed a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to keep the humidity levels low.
